Memorial services for Elmer “Buddy” Garrett, 68, will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the First Assembly of God Church of Denver City with Reverend Ronnie Lunsford officiating. Services will be under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Buddy passed away June 24, 2016 in Denver City, Texas.
Buddy was born September 7, 1947 in Louisville, Alabama to Emerson and Ethel Garrett. He married Roberta Humble on August 18, 1990. Buddy owned and operated Garrett’s Body Shop for over 37 years. He was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Frank and Monroe.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Roberta of Denver City; 3 sons, Bobby and Patrick Garrett and Damien Humble of Denver City; a daughter, Donna Garrett of Houston; 5 sisters, Barbara Monossky of Birmingham, Alabama, Ruth Seagers of Montgomery, Alabama, Lilian Bush of Pensacola, Florida, Demple McGough and Robbie Trotter both of Alabama; 10 grandchildren, Brad, Travis, Matthew, and Peytin Garrett, John Sthulgen, Taylor, Garrett, and Valarie Herron, Joseph and Justin Humble; and 5 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
