Commissioners Court Meets December 5; Seeking bids for road material and gasoline for 2017

The Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, December 5, where they addressed a very short agenda.

After auditing and settling all accounts against the County and directing their payments the Court addressed the rest of their agenda. They unanimously approved to pay $56,153.28 in regular county bills and an additional $136,618.00 in Medical expenses.

The Commissioners unanimously approved the advertising for bids for the purchase of Unleaded and Diesel Fuel for all County Departments and also bids for the purchase of Gravel, Hot and Cold Mix for all four precincts and Yoakum County Parks for the calendar year 2017. These bids will be advertised on December 11 and 18, opened on December 29, and approved on January 3, 2017.

The Court unanimously acknowledged the employment of Oran Duncan as a patrol deputy at the Sheriff’s Office and also approved his deputation as a patrol deputy at the Yoakum County Sheriff’s Office.

They also unanimously acknowledged the deputation of Wesley Moore for the Criminal District Attorney’s Office.

A memorial donation for the Alma Daniels Family from Ty Earl and Linda Powell to the Plains Library was also approved.

There were no request for the disposal of county equipment, two line item transfers, and no Soil Conversation request.

Commissioner Ray Marion informed the Court reinforcement steel would be installed on the pad at the new Denver City Community Building and the pouring of concrete foundation was also expected to take this week.

Commissioners Woody Lindsey, Ray Marion, Ty Earl Powell, and Tim Addison along with County Judge Jim Barron were all in attendance.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, December 12 at 10 am at the County Courthouse.
