District volleyball action continues to heat up for Brownfield and Wellman-Union as both teams enter another important week of competition. The Brownfield Lady Cubs are looking to bounce back at home after splitting a pair of road matches, while the Wellman-Union Lady Cats carry a winning streak into a major district showdown against undefeated Klondike.

Brownfield Lady Cubs: Lady Cubs Split Road Matches, Return Home for Coahoma

The Brownfield Lady Cubs continued district volleyball action last week with a pair of road matches, including another five-set thriller.

Brownfield traveled to Stanton last Tuesday and came away with a hard-fought victory. The Lady Cubs battled through all five sets before taking the deciding set 17-15. The win was another example of the fight and determination the team has shown throughout the season.

On Saturday, Brownfield traveled to Denver City but was unable to come away with the win. The Lady Cubs have already turned their attention forward and are focused on continuing to improve as district play moves along.

Brownfield returns home Tuesday to host Coahoma in what is expected to be another tough matchup. Discipline, execution and consistency will be important as the Lady Cubs look to defend their home court.

The team continues to show resilience in close matches, and another important week of district volleyball is ahead for Brownfield.

Wellman-Union Lady Cats: Lady Cats Stay Hot, Set for Unbeaten District Showdown with Klondike

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats kept their winning streak rolling last Tuesday with a hard-fought three-set victory over Loop.

Wellman-Union showed plenty of determination and composure throughout the match, finding ways to finish each set strong. Aliyah DePoyster led the front-row attack with 16 kills, while the Lady Cats also put together a strong performance from the service line with 18 aces.

It was another complete team effort and an important confidence-building win as the Lady Cats continue through district play.

Now, the focus shifts to Tuesday’s home matchup against #15 Klondike. Both teams enter the contest undefeated in district play, setting up what should be one of the biggest matches of the season so far.

Wellman-Union will look to continue playing together, stay aggressive, and protect its home court as the Lady Cats try to extend their winning streak and remain unbeaten in district.
