This morning, I received the call I dreaded. The South Plains Public Health District reported to me that Yoakum County has their first “Confirmed Positive Covid-19 case”. It was confirmed that an elderly rural resident tested positive and is in the hospital in Lubbock.
I want to encourage each of you to continue observing the directives of the President and Governor by observing the six feet or more space on social distancing, avoiding groups of more than ten, and observing good hygiene practices. I also would like to recommend wearing a face covering when you are in close proximity with others. It is very important for the protection of our families, our friends, and citizens.
Let’s continue to be diligent in our efforts!
If I have any important updates on our situation, I will post to this site.
Again, lets each one continue to be aware of our situation, be kind to each other, support and protect our families, our employees, and our community.
