After winning their first tournament over Texas, the Red Raiders looked to take on their next opponent. The Oklahoma State Cowboys, whose hopes were as high as Tech’s hoping to win the Big 12 championship, would get into the conversation for the NCAA tournament. The Cowboys would score early in the bottom of the first inning, bringing in two runs as Ehrhard would hit a home run to left field.
The score would remain 2-0 OSU for the next three innings. This time Benge would be the runner crossing home plate for the Cowboys before the 5th inning ended. At the top of the 6th, the Red Raiders would remain shut out and bring the Cowboys to bat again. With a runner on third for the Cowboys, the Red Raiders couldn’t allow any mistakes. As fate would have it, a wild pitch would allow Forsythe to come in and add another run for the Cowboys.

The score is now 4-0 Cowboys, and the pressure is mounting for the Red Raiders. A sliver of hope would come for the Raiders in the form of a home run by Gavin Kash, bringing a runner along with him, making the score 4-2 Cowboys. In the bottom of the 7th, OSU would have the bases loaded and score three runs via two walks and another wild pitch. Tech had essentially handed the game back to the Cowboys, and they would pay.
As only a couple of innings remained to be played the Raiders could not generate any offense to bring the score closer. The game would end at the midway point of the 9th as the Cowboys would not have to take the field and send the Raiders to play Cincinnati.
