From Dr. Stephanie Howard Superintendent, Plains Independent School District

“The Cowboy and Cowgirl Arena (gymnasium) that was completed January 2015, as part of the 2013 school bond approved by the voters of Plains, was nominate by Parkhill, Smith & Cooper and was selected to receive a Design Award from the Lubbock American Institute of Architects,” wrote Howard in a recent press release. “The district will be recognized at the AIA Lubbock 2015 Design Awards on Friday, Nov 13. As a district, we are very proud of the Arena and the atmosphere it provides for our athletes as they compete in basketball and volleyball. This is truly an honor for the Plains ISD and the City of Plains as this facility makes a statement of the importance our community places on excellence and the support shown for the students in Plains ISD.

Plains ISD is honored to receive this award, and we appreciate the support of the community and the work and partnership with PSC as they designed first class facility.”
