The Denver City High School FTC Robotics team has advanced to State for the second year in a row!!
Team members will travel to Dallas to compete against 30+ teams 1A-4A for the state championship on March 13.
If the DCHS team places in the top ten, every member becomes eligible for the TILF scholarships their senior year.
The members who attended the state meet last year are eligible since we placed 7th in the 2019 season.
Denver City ended up 4th in the 1A-4A division at the regional contest. (13th overall 1A-6A out of 36 teams).
“Please help me in congratulating these students as they represented out school very well,” noted teacher Brad Friesen.
2020 State Qualifiers Seniors include Fabiana Medina*, Ilea Landeros, Alan Lara, Blaise Sanchez, Ryan Langehennig, and Nathaniel Rodriguez*.
Junior qualifiers include Christian Ford*, Angel Trujillo*, Jesus Landeros*, Aaron Gladden*, and Diego Sanchez*.
The sophomores who qualified include Gavin Lynch*, Jose Franco, Alec Martinez, Braden Williams, Wyatt Bryant*, and Edgar Villegas.
Freshmen who are members of the team include Isaiah Ybarra, Rey Garza, Emily Sanchez, Matthew Gonzalez, and Sydney Escalante.
An asterisk (*) next to a students’ name denotes 2019 State Qualifier earning the 7th place over and the 4th Alliance Captain.
