Teoscar Hernandez has won his first Home Run Derby in his first-ever appearance. The newly crowned champion had Bobby Witt Jr., the star player from the Kansas City Royals, in an epic showdown. Hernandez beat Witt by one home run, making the score 14–13. This was no easy feat, as he had to battle against some of the best.

Adolis Garcia from the Texas Rangers, and shortstop Gunnar Henderson from the Orioles. Alec Bohm, Jose Ramirez, Marcell Ozuna, and Pete Alonzo, to name all the other players in this competition. Along with making this his personal accomplishment, it is also an organizational accomplishment.
Up until Hernandez won the Derby, the Dodgers had never had a home-run derby winner in their organizational history. The Dodgers are 56-41 and currently in second place (6.5 games back) behind the National League leader, the Philadelphia Phillies. As they are carrying a 3-7 record in the last 10 games, it would be good for the team to carry this positive energy after the all-star break and get back on the right track.
