Yoakum Soil and Water Conservation District has partnered with the Texas Soil & Water Conservation Board, Association of Texas Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Texas Wildlife Association and Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association to highlight Soil & Water Stewardship Week and the importance of voluntary land stewardship in Texas.
The Statewide campaign is April 26th through May 3, 2020 and the focus this year is “Where Would We BEE Without Pollinators?”
Yoakum County Judge Jim Barron read the Proclamation during the weekly Commissioners Court meeting on Monday, April 13 and then signed and dated the document.
Part of the proclamation notes: Where asstewardship calls for each person to help conserve these precious resources and our security depends upon healthy soil and clean water.

The SWCD meets the first Wednesday of each month at the USDA Service Center in Plains.
