This year’s stock show is dedicated to Mr. Lee Kidd of Denver City. In the Yoakum County Junior Livestock Show program a dedication was written as follows:
“Being raised in West Texas, you learn to work doing many different jobs. Lee grew up in Denver City working in a café, in the oil field, and farming and ranching. He has given his all to helping the community of Yoakum County. He is still very active in the businesses he and his longtime partner, John Thomas, started many years ago.
Lee has worked on many boards in the city and county. He has served on various county boards, including the water board and appraisal district board. He was very instrumental in getting a major facelift for the Denver City Cemetery, and in getting new businesses to come to Denver City.
He has been a big supporter of the Yoakum County Livestock Association for many years, and loves to come to the shows and watch all the kids.”
“We are honored to dedicate the 2016 show to Mr. Lee Kidd. Your support of the children of Yoakum County is unparalleled. Thank you so much,” stated the Yoakum County Livestock Association Board of Directors.
