One might think it to be a coincidence not long after the U.S. military pulled out of the Middle East from the forever war that the American government had us involved in. To the American people financing the cost for the U.S. to send around 175 billion dollars. While so much of that money goes towards the military-industrial complex, In simple terms, the normal American paid for the war in the Middle East by paying for the Russian-Ukrainian war. 175 billion dollars that went to go to a country on the other side of the world, when that money could have been put towards the American people.

While I do not support all these programs, cases can be made for them, and that money could have gone to student loan forgiveness, healthcare, our country’s infrastructure, and more. Instead, we must pay for NATO’s continuous expansion and soldiers stationed beyond the Iron Curtain. An agreement that would reunify Germany and would not allow further expansion east. A famous quote from James Baker The former U.S. Secretary of State would go on to say, “Not an inch of NATO’s present military jurisdiction will spread in an eastern direction.”

By the way, Finland and Sweden joined NATO this year and last year. Since 1997, 16 countries have joined NATO. Some argue that because there is no official documentation or agreement, what was said is null and void. If that were the case, then why do we have politicians and diplomats? It’s no different than when two neighbors agree that one neighbor’s kids will not play on his lawn or step in their flower garden, and a week later, that kid destroys the entire garden. Of course, that person would be mad. It’s called a gentleman’s agreement, a way to do things without having to go through the legal process.
Now that Ukraine wants to join NATO, which has put Russia in a tough position, constant NATO expansion and Western political influence neighboring your country would spell terrible for the communist country. By chance, if Ukraine can survive this war and follow a Western political system, the Russian people will see this and want the same freedoms that we have. This is not saying much considering Zelensky circumvented Parliament to enact sanctions on three TV channels, suspending opposing political parties and opposing media even before the war took place. But that’s a whole other topic for another day.
While all this is going on, the American tax dollars paying for the war, NATO expansion, and the expansion of Western political influence have all occurred over the past few years. With all this going on, the Russian fleet is going to Cuba to conduct military exercises, which happened previously from 2013 to 2020. This can be viewed as a reminder that Russia also has global reach and can play in America’s backyard.
How much more do the American people have to endure? Illegal immigration, wages that don’t meet the cost of living, a rising housing market, and now aiding the rebuilding of Ukraine. As this has been talked about over the past year or so, many people don’t know. We Americans are the ones already paying the Ukrainian bills, debt, and now their reconstruction. Those major financial institutions only get involved with things of this nature if there is profit involved.

Saager Enjeti said it best: “American taxpayers, who are guaranteeing this debt, and how much money are they going to make off of all these guarantees? These private investors, guarantees might come from the Ukrainian government, but that is a de facto bet on the United States government. So, we are basically facilitating a massive wealth transfer.” This is from his and Krystal Ball’s show-breaking points on February 14, 2023. The YouTube clip title is Zelensky TEAMS UP with JP Morgan, BlackRock | Breaking Points for you to watch and listen to yourself.
I will leave this article at this and ask you, the honest American worker, how much more do we have to give to our country before we get anything in return?
