Making a Difference

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible for so many reasons. For one reason, it gives us a peek right into the heart of God. God loves us! This verse shows so much of that love. If He did not love us, He would not have created us with a plan for our lives. Also in Jeremiah, in the first chapter, God tells Jeremiah, “Before you were even formed in the womb, I knew you. Before you were even born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  Again, God loved Jeremiah, and us, so much that He had a plan for him before he was even formed in his mother’s womb! Oh my goodness! What a mighty God we serve!

A God that loves us so much that He has thought out our whole lives. I know we fall off His path from time to time, but great news! He has a will and a plan for our lives from the point of our mistakes. When we confess our sins to Him, He dusts us off and says, “I forgive you and now this is where we travel from here.” I tell my Sunday School class that I believe that God has this big ol book for my life and He just keeps turning the pages for me from the point of my successes and even my failures until we get to the end. When you walk that path with God, and you get to the end of the book, He will finally look around and say, “You know, we are closer to My house than we are yours. Why don’t you just come on home with me?” And we will!!

Oh my! How wonderful that day will be! When we are home with the Savior where there are no worries or struggles. There are no fears and certainly no tears! There is nothing but just perfect peace with our Savior and our King. I can’t wait for that day! But, while I am here and while you are here, we must be about following His plan for our lives. That plan that He laid out long before we were ever born.

Oh, if you do not know this One as your personal Savior, come find me! Find someone who can share with you how He can be your Savior and you can have eternal life with Him one day! You know, when He wrote Jeremiah 29:11, He had you on His mind. He really did! Let that make a difference for you today!
