JV Track Teams Compete in Seminole Meet

Both the Mustang and Fillie junior varsity track teams recently competed in the Seminole meet with the Mustangs coming home with the meet championship with 158 points and the Fillies capturing 2^nd place with 133 points.

For the Mustangs in each individual event Cecelio Cardoza won 1^st in the 100 and 200 meters; Gerald Grier finished 5^th in the 200 meters; in the 400 meters Nathan Cruz finished in 2^nd and Eziquiel Gonzales finished in 5^th; in the 800 meters Leandro Trinidad finished in 5^th; in the 1600 and 3200 meters Aldo Salinas finished in 1^st; in the 3200 meters Daniel Dominquez finished in 3^rd and Everardo Navarette finished in 4^th; in the 110 meter hurdles Nick Garza finished in 1^st and Cris Escalante finished in 3^rd; in the 300 meter hurdles Nick Garza finished in 1^st and Cris Escalante finished in 2^nd; the 4X100 meter relay finished in 6^th; the 4X200 relay finished in 5^th; and the 4X400 relay finished in 2^nd.

In the field events; in the shot put Abel Trejo finished in 4^th and Isaiah Saenz finished in 5^th; in the discus Abel Trejo finished in 1^st and Luis Ontiveros finished in 4^th; in the high jump Riley Boyd finished tied for 6^th; in the pole vault Zechariah Zubiate finished in 2^nd and Octavio Rascon finished in 5^th; and in the long jump Gerald Grier finished tied for 4^th.

For the Fillies; in the 400 meters Jahel Alderete finished in 1^st and Miriam Flores finished in 2^nd; in the 800 and 1600 meters Ailin Estrada finished in 1^st; in the 1600 meters Fernanda Soto finished in 4^th; in the 3200 meters Nidia Ceniceros finished in 2^nd and Joselin Garcia finished in 3^rd; in the 100 meter hurdles Ailin Ortega finished in 4^th and Gabi Alscbach finished in 6^th; in the 300 meter hurdles Ailin Ortego finished in 2^nd and Mariana Polanco finished in 3^rd; the 4X100 relay finished in 4^th; the 4X200 relay finished in 4^th; and 4X400 relay finished in 2^nd.

In the field events Bailey Marin finished in 2^nd in the discus and Claire Seymour finished in 5^th; in the long jump Ailin Ortega finished in 4^th and 2^nd in the triple jump.
