The Denver City FFA judging teams competed over the weekend at Texas Tech for the Area CDE Contest with several teams doing quite well.
Advancing to the state contest in Stephenville this week will be the Milk Quality and Products team that finished in 4th place. Members of that team include Nyla Reyes, Hailey Henderson, Adyssen Beck, Victoria Quezada, and Naomi Gonzales.
Other teams who took part in the contest was Meats who finished in 6th place. Making up this team was Jaryd Ivy, Kurt Marion, Dakota Fariss, and Caitlin Williams.
Also finishing in 6th place was the Livestock team. Members of this team are Paige Williams, Kolt Dierschke, Spencer Marion, and Morgan Johnson.
And the last team to compete was the Wool team who finished in 18th place. Making up this team was Becca McCleskey, Javier Davila, Dakota Fariss, and Paige Williams.
“These kids represented Denver City very well,” noted instructor Brandon Freel. “Our meats and livestock judging teams were very close to qualifying for state as well. Both of those teams ended up 6th and they only take the top five teams to state out of our area. Please congratulate these kids for all the hard work they have put in to get to this point.”
