Yoakum County Librarian Pat McNabb was present at Commissioners Court on Monday, November 7, to give a report on the Denver City Cecil Bickley Library as one of America’s Star Libraries.
McNabb said the Denver City Library had once again earned a 4 Star recognition as an outstanding library for their services to the community from The Library Journal Index of Public Library Service.
According to McNabb the Library Journal Index is based on five types of per capita use that they generate: visits, circulation, e-circulation, public access computer use, and program attendance.
There are 260 libraries in the nation that receive this recognition and only ten in the state of Texas. The Denver City Library received a 4 Star rating out of possible 5 Stars. The only time this particular library has missed being recognized was in 2010 since its inception in 2009. In 2009 and 2014 they received 5 Stars.
County Judge Jim Barron congratulated McNabb the employees of the Denver City library and applauded their daily efforts to make that library a top notch facility every day.
