Ms. Annie R. Harrell was born on June 14, 1955, to Walter Earl Harrell, Sr. and Erma Lee Harrell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 1pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Brownfield. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brownfield under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary.

Born and raised in Brownfield, Texas, Annie attended Wheatley School. She enjoyed a long career in the medical field, where she built friendships and bonds that lasted well beyond retirement and will live on in the hearts of those she served. Annie was well known for cutting a rug with her brother Doug and sister Frances, and everyone knew those three stood on business. Knowing them in their 20s meant knowing a funky good time… (if you know, you know!). She served as a youth Sunday School teacher at Faith Temple, where she planted and watered seeds of love, peace, and joy while instilling discipline in the youth (sometimes even with a ruler). Annie was a mother to all and treated everyone she met like family. She didn’t hesitate to say what needed to be said and did everything with integrity and love, but she always made sure you knew exactly where she stood. She was a strong, courageous prayer warrior who prayed in faith for anyone and everyone, even if they had just met in line at the grocery store. In her later days, she was Granny, garage-selling, and hitting up the Dollar Tree daily. And if you had a few minutes to spare on the phone, she was going to make sure you knew that time was running out.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Earl Harrell, Sr. and Erma Lee Harrell; her eight brothers, Stance, JT, Leslie, Bill, Walter Jr., Maurice, JW, and Gilbert; her seven sisters, Inez, Earlene, Vera, Bobbie, Joyce, Ella, and Bessie; her daughter, Jessica Harrell; and her grandson, Cambridge Harrell.
Annie’s legacy of love, faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Wanda Harrell of Lubbock, Texas, and Sheryl Harrell, Janet (MJ), and Marvin Harrell of Brownfield, Texas; her grandchildren, Broderick Harrell, Robert (Andrew), Regan Harrell, and Bryce Harrell of Lubbock, Texas, Riley Harrell of Brownfield, Texas, and Gevin Gibson of Seagraves, Texas; and her four great-grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert McDaniel and Johnny (John Lee) Harrell of Eastland, Texas, Douglass (Doug) Harrell and Claude (Felicita) Harrell of Brownfield, Texas, and David (Katherine) Harrell of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Merlene Robinson, Frances Williams, Dorothy Lawrence, and Leatrice Hines, all of Brownfield, Texas; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
