With books about Grandma’s house and turkey dinners, a group gathered on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Yoakum County Library in Plains for the theme of “Family Thanks.” After pledges and calendar activities, a new song called “If You’re Thankful and You Know It” gave all the children a chance to be happy and thankful!
Books read were “Grandma’s Tiny House” and “Sharing the Bread: An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving Story.” A video clip from Nickelodeon’s Celebrate Fall of the Bubble Guppies called “Gobble Gobble Guppies,” was an appropriate selection. It covered many of the fall themes over the past weeks: pirates, tractors, leaves, pumpkins, apples, acorns, and turkeys! The children were then dismissed with the action rhyme “Wave Good-bye.”
All ages are welcome at the Family StoryTime, which meets weekly at the Yoakum County Library in Plains at 10:30 AM each Thursday. The library will be closed on Thursday, 11/22 and Friday, 11/23. Find “Yoakum County Library Plains” on Facebook.
