The Terry County Commissioners met in a regular session on Monday, March 27 at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Court Room. All members were present.

After dispensing with the regular business, the Court went into a discussion of the American Legion building located on Seagraves Road. There had been no bids turned in from anyone interested in buying the building from the County.

The Court then went into Executive Session to discuss the “Continuation or termination of county sale of American Legion.” Upon returning to Open Session, it was voted to terminate the county sale at this time. There was some discussion of the repairs and upgrades needed at the building and some thoughts on what might be their next step.

The Court also discussed raising rental rates for the American Legion building, as well as the Rodeo Barn. No action was taken. Current rates are $1,100 for the American Legion, and $1,200 for the Rodeo Barn. Both have a deposit fee that is returned if the buildings are properly cleaned following the event.

A Budget Amendment for Precinct 2 was approved. This will enable Commissioner Precinct 2, Richard Cavazos to purchase a new truck, which was the next item on the agenda. The Court approved the purchase of a 2016 Diesel Semi Truck for Precinct 2 for a cost of $90,000.

There was no further busines and the meeting was adjourned.
