The Terry County Commissioners Court held a regular meeting on the morning of Monday, August 11, 2025. The agenda was light, and after the invocation, pledges, and public comments (of which there were none), the Court approved the minutes from the previous meeting and authorized payment of the county bills before moving on to the rest of the agenda.

During the monthly reports, Justice of the Peace Judge Angie Garza announced that the total revenue for July 2025 was $44,721.76, which included $43,188.06 in monetary revenue and $1,533.00 in non-monetary revenue from jail time and community service.

County Judge Tony Serbantez reported that 18 new criminal cases were filed in July 2025, while eight criminal cases and one civil case were closed.

Terry County Sheriff Tim Click informed the Court that there were 172 calls received: six were emergencies, 162 were non-emergencies, and four were misdials. Eight offenses were reported, all of which were cleared. The offenses included: one burglary of a vehicle, tampering with evidence with intent to impair, possession of a controlled substance, a terroristic threat against a public servant, false drug test, reckless driving, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and evading arrest. Additionally, the Sheriff’s Department made 15 arrests in July 2025 and received 20 warrants: nine served, one returned, and 11 outstanding. Eight warrants came from the Justice of the Peace’s office, eight from the county court, and four from the district court.

Next, the Court approved a “statement of agreement” between West Texas Centers and the Terry County Commissioners Court.

The Court then moved on to the next agenda item, approving the purchase of a 0.241-acre lot in Meadow. The described piece of property is “BLK 9 LOT 17 THE N/2 & ALL OF LOT 18 ORIGINAL TOWN OF MEADOW BLK/TRACT 9.” This property was purchased to provide additional space for the Precinct 2 equipment located to the east. The Court approved the purchase for $50,000.

The final item of business was the review and consideration of a lease agreement with First National Bank of Wichita Falls for a down payment of $80,850.00 for a road grader for Precinct 4. The Court approved both the lease and the down payment.

The meeting was adjourned with all four commissioners, the County Judge, and the County Clerk present. The County Auditor was absent. The next meeting is scheduled for August 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM in the Court Chambers at the Terry County Courthouse.
