PageLines- PlainsSportsLogo.pngThe Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released 2016 Accountability Ratings for all Texas schools.

Overall 94% of Texas School Districts received the Met Standard Rating.

Districts and campuses receive one of two ratings, met standard or improvement required.

Plains ISD as a whole met standard. Plains High School, Plains Middle School and Plains Elementary each individually met standard on all Indexes (1-4).

The accountability system is based on success in four indexes:

  • Index 1- Student Achievement
  • Index 2- Student Progress
  • Index 3- Closing Achievement Gaps
  • Index 4 – Post-Secondary Readiness

Dr. Stephanie Howard, PISD Superintendent, stated in a press release, “I commend the students in Plains ISD and our faculty and staff for the work they did to obtain theses ratings. We have some areas we have identified for improvement for all our students.”

**To receive a Met Standard rating, districts and campuses must meet targets on three indices: Index 1 or Index 2 and Index 3 and Index 4.
