Maria A Cruz, age 78 passed from this life on July 7, 2015 in Brownfield.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 10, 2015 at St. Antho-ny’s Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Teo officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery. Rosaries will be 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 8, 2015 and Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Mark A Jones Memorial Chapel. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.
Maria was born to Sirildo and Domingia Argüelles on September 27, 1936 in Yorktown, TX. She married, the love of her life, Domingo Cruz in August of 1956. She was also a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Maria’s hobbies were crocheting, making blankets by hand, sowing, watching Spanish soaps and playing BINGO. She also loved cooking ribs in the oven.
Her family remembers what a great Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was always willing to listen to anyone and cared for everyone.
Those left to cherish her memories are husband: Domingo Cruz, of 59 years, of the home; 3 Sons: Gilbert Cruz and wife Enedelia, Domingo Cruz Jr and wife Rita and Casey Cruz all of Brownfield; 3 daughters: Susana Melendez of Brownfield, Lucinda Rodriguez and husband Javier of Colorado, and Diane Lira and husband Roman of Lubbock; 5 brothers: Genero, Raul and Jose Arguellez all of Brownfield, Sirildo Arguellez, JR of Victoria, TX., and Roberto Arguellez of Ft. Worth; 2 sisters: Paula Luera of Brownfield, and Juane Lerma of Donna, TX.
She was also blessed with 20 grand-children, 53 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter: Sylvia Munoz; 2 granddaughters: Jennifer Cruz and Sally Munoz; 1 grandson: Sirildo Melendez; 1 great-great-granddaughter: Avery Cruz and 4 brothers.
