Sometimes, we have so much going on in our lives that it may seem difficult to feel God’s presence. After all, how do we even know God is with us? There are scriptures that point to the very presence of God in our lives. One of my favorites is in Psalm 139.
Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, You are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, You are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there Your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to You;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to You.
A beautiful verse of God’s presence in our lives. It does not matter where we are or what we have done, God will be there with us. He will hold us close and guide us out of whatever difficulty we have found ourselves in. He is a good, good God!
But, how do we know He is there? How do we feel His presence in our lives? One good way is just simply whisper His Name. Just whisper His Name when you are in times of trial or confusion. That simple act can bring you so much peace.
Spend a life walking with Him. Being sure that you are trying hard to follow His guidance in your life. When you walk with Him, you begin to recognize His steps in your life. Peace will certainly follow!
Read His Word. Don’t just quietly skim the pages. Read it outloud! Read it as your heart’s prayer to Him. And while you are reading His Word, spend time praising Him. Praise Him in the good and praise Him in the bad. Just praise Him!
Do you believe He is near you? Do you believe He hears each prayer? Do you know Him as your Savior? All of these things can bring such peace into your life. Don’t let another sleepless night go by. Don’t let another worry filled day pass without asking Him to come and live in your life and forgive you of your sins. He is waiting for you, He does not force His will on anyone. He is waiting to hear you whisper His Name.
Whisper the Name that rises above every other name! It will make a difference!
