Making a Difference

This world can be a pretty confusing place at times. These days, it can be VERY confusing! I was thinking about how we graduate our kiddos from high school at 18 and expect them to have a plan for the future. That seems a bit ambitious! When I was graduating from high school, I honestly did not have any idea what I wanted to do. I remember thinking I wanted to join the Air Force for about 15 minutes one day. I also remember thinking I would like to be involved in politics, which is ironic because now I just absolutely despise having anything to do with government, city or national!

I am not sure I know yet what I want to be when I grow up! I at least know what I want the world to be like. I want people to get to farm without needing to borrow money. I want the price of diesel to go back down. I want producers to get to sell their crop for more than it cost to grow I!

When I grow up, I want to the two party electoral system to continue in our government, but I want partisan politics to be gone. Can that even happen?? I want each side to recognize that the other side actually does make an occasional okay decision and you don’t have to be against everything simply because it comes from the other side of the aisle! I want people in our country to remember the principles on which this country was founded and work to get along with each other and to honor our country once again.

When I grow up, I want the people in our country and in our world to straighten up and act right! I want people to quit finding new and disgusting ways to hurt and kill each other. I want us to start valuing each other as much as we value ourselves. I want us to respect the older generation and the lessons they have to teach.

When I grow up, I want to try hard to be the person that God made me to be. I want to do all those things He has in mind for me to do. I want to spend more time listening to Him and less time telling Him how I want things to work out. I want to be the kind of person that God would look at with pride and say, “That is My little girl!”

What do you want to be when you grow up? Or what do you want the world to be like? You know, we never quit growing up, so it is never too late to plan for what you want to be.

Dream your dreams. Imagine a better world. And then work for that dream! Pray for God’s guidance in all you do. With God’s help, we can all make a difference!
