Welcome back to Horton’s Pick ‘Ems. I went 54-26 last week. The 6A and 2A teems are tricking me! Most games are from the West Text area, which includes the South Plains, Panhandle, Permian Basin, Big Country, and Concho Valley. In the list below, there are 80 games in Week 4, Sept. 20-21, 2024. There were already some Thursday night games played, so I didn’t pick those teams. The school (team) on the left is Eric Horton’s pick. We encourage you all to pick which team will win.
I am confident this week that the Cubs will get into the win column over Levelland. There are some great matchups this week such as the Frenship and Lubbock-Cooper. The Pirates come in 3-0 with. However, the Tigers have been a scoring machine, averaging a little over 60 points a game! Muleshoe, another 3-0 squad, will take a 3-hour & 15-minute journey up into the Panhandle to take on #3 Canadian. This could be a preview of the Regional Finals or State Quarter Finals. Another intriguing game is the battle of two unbeaten teams, Post vs Slaton. For many decades, both these schools have been rivals, even though they are not in the same class. This will be a classic “Battle of 84” game.
