Alton Roy “Roy” Snow

Born April 28, 1939 – passed away on August 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Roy was born to George Washington Russell Snow and Susan Frances Butler Snow in Brownfield, Texas on April 28, 1939. He was married to his bride, Sallie Yarbrough Snow, for 64 years, 3 months, and 12 days. He left a wonderful legacy and example.

He is preceded in death by: his father and mother, siblings: Willie Orvill Snow, Nola May Snow, Lester Russell Snow, Thelma Inez Snow, Oralee Snow, Opal Louise Snow, Ena Willa Dean Snow,and Frances Yvonne Snow. Roy was the baby of his very large family.

He is survived by his three sons, Michael Duane Snow and wife Barbara, Jerald Alton Snow and wife Karen, and James Daniel Snow. He is also survived by five grandsons, Jonathan Matthew Snow and his wife, Candace, Robert Aaron Snow, and his wife, Stephanie, Joshua Alton Snow, and his wife Taylor, James Russell Snow and his wife, Hannah, and Michael Nathan Snow and wife, Jessica.

He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Lylah Grace, Julie Joy, Willa Claire, Nora Kate, Collins Nicole, Nolan Wilder, Myles Matthew, Beau Riley Alton, AudreyJo Lynne, James Russell Snow, Jr., and Texas Ranger, and three more on the way.

During high school, Roy worked as a printer with the Brownfield News. In Odessa, he worked at Odessa American Newspaper. He also worked at the Dallas Morning News, Stafford Loudon, and finally Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages, which later became AT&T. He retired from AT&T.
