Two places of business have officially changed names on the outside. Stanley Ford and Stanley Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, & Ram was acquired by Gabriel Jordan Auto Group in early April 2023 and before Stanley sold to Gabriel Jordan, the company had bought John Roley’s auto dealerships in Littlefield and Levelland. According to Scott Jordan, one of the owners of Gabriel Jordan Auto, which is based out of Tyler Texas said, “We plan on keeping everyone on board, all employees… everything is running smoothly, and we might tweak a few things.” Fred Rumsey the current General Manager will continue doing his job at the dealership according to Jordan. “We really couldn’t have gone through this sale without Fred,” said Jordan. The acquisition was supposed to be finished in July, however, it was completed on August 4, 2023. Jordan went on to say, “We really like the community and we really wanted to dip into the West Texas market.” Now the name has changed on the two dealership building to Brownfield Ford and Brownfield Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, & Ram.

The other business that took on a name change is Hamilton Tire or some know it by Jack Hamilton’s Tire. About a month after Gabriel Jordan Auto Group took over Styanley’s, the 80-plus-old business of Hamilton Tires was sold to Franklin and Son. Reggie Franlik who owns Franklin and Son was approached by the Hamilton family to purchase the business. Reggie said Franklin and Son has been in business for 60 years in Stanton. “Much like the Hamilton family, which we knew really well, we wanted to serve Brownfield and have the opportunity to own a small town tire store,” said Reggie. Franklin and Son now has five locations in Texas, its original store in Stanton, Big Spring, Lamesa, Anson, and of course Brownfield. Reggie also reiterated that the company didn’t really change much, in fact, it kept every employee. Recently, Reggie had the Hamilton sign taken off the building and added Franklin and Son.
