Funeral services for Jerry Bradford Thornton will be held at 10 am Friday, February 3, 2023, at Meadow First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Heath officiating. Burial will follow at 1 pm at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Jerry passed away on January 28, 2023, at his home in Meadow. He was born on June 4, 1938, in Ralls to Elmer Otis and Lola Bell Thornton. Jerry married Linda Beth Michael on July 13, 1958, in Lubbock. He was a truck driver that could drive a thousand miles in one day and not be tired. Jerry worked for Goodpasture in Brownfield for 27 years until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jody Lee Thornton, a brother, Don Ed Thornton, and a sister Glenna Horton.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Thornton of Meadow; four children, Jay Thornton and wife, Alicia, of Lubbock, Donna Thornton of Denton, Stacy Hatton of Ranger, and Lainie Thornton of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Lacosta Brunson of Katy.
