“Above all, love each other deeply.” 1 Peter 4:8
It is usually in our times of greatest tragedy that we see God’s love most clearly, and we see that love most often through the actions of His people. We have certainly seen that since the passing of our Jeremiah. Our hearts have been overwhelmed with all we have seen and felt from this community, as everyone has wrapped their arms around us in love and support during this difficult time.
We have seen such support and such an outpouring of God’s blessing through the people in this town and area. From adults to children, we have felt your love and support.
We want to especially mention Jeremiah’s friends and all that they have done for us and to honor the memory of their friend. This has done this mom and dad’s heart more good than you can ever know.
We want to thank the Sheriff’s Office and the Police Department for all they have done for us and how they have guarded us and watched over us.
Our church family at First Baptist Church, my goodness, we have been overwhelmed by your love and your hearts. We want to thank the men of the church who stood at the doors to the church as our guardians and as our protectors. It did not go unnoticed.
To our pastor, Dr. Matt Baird, the service was perfect. Your words were amazing. You have been such a blessing to us.
To Kamryn Cruz, oh there are no words to express what that song meant to us. It was beautiful.
To Terry and Rhonda Duncan, your words were perfect. Your friendship is perfect. To Shere Forbes for the piano music, it was beautiful. To the sound crew at the church, it was all so perfect.
To Brownfield Funeral Home, thank you for your attention to detail and for the caring way you served our family and took care of our precious Jeremiah.
To all our very special friends, these people knew our thoughts and what our hearts needed, even before we did.
We love this community so much and we are so grateful to live here.
And above all else, we want anyone who is thinking about hurting themselves or feeling overwhelmed with the world around them to know there is an answer for them and suicide is not the answer. Please reach out to someone. There are people here who love you and will help you.
To all others, look for the signs. Be there. Be ready to listen. Be a friend.
We thank God for you all and we love you deeply.
Tomas and Kelli Mendez and family
