Yoakum County Commissioners Court Met April 22

After taking the previous week off, the Yoakum County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, April 22, where they addressed their weekly agenda.

Moving into the agenda the Court moved to audit and settle all accounts against the County and direct their payments. After looking over the bills and addressing any concerns a motion was made and unanimously approved to pay County bills that totaled $452,821.42 and Medical facility bills that totaled $270,236.66. The Court also unanimously approved the Part-Time Payroll.

In the first item on the agenda the Court unanimously approved funds from contingency for the mandatory harassment training.

The Court also unanimously approved to accept a donation of $100 for the 2019 Summer Reading Program from Newell Squyres, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for the Plain Library.

Judge Jim Barron signed a Proclamation for the week of April 28th to May 5th as SOIL & WATER STEWARDSHIP WEEK. He presented the proclamation to Precinct #1 JP Marc Traweek.

Moving to the next item the Sheriff’s office accepted a donation from the City of Plains. Sheriff David Bryant also recommended for the Court to accept an agreement between Transunion Risk and Alternative Data Solutions Inc. & Sheriff Department. Bryant explained it would be a renewal to access data to help locate people. The cost is $75 per month and is good for 250 searches each year.

There were no road crossing permit applications, disposal of several equipment items from the Treasurer’s office, three-line item transfers, and no Soil Conservation request.

Commissioners Woody Lindsey, Ray Marion, and Tommy Box along with Judge Jim Barron were all in attendance. Commissioner Tim Addison was not in attendance. The next meeting will be held on Monday, April 29, starting at 10 am.
