I was trying to use my credit card earlier and it was declined! The horrors! The embarrassment. I made a phone call and there was a fraud alert applied to my account at some point. I had to go through transactions and finally, the problem was resolved. Technology is not always our friend.
But I was thinking about the “fraud alert.” There are so many things in our world that need a fraud alert warning on them. So many people, ideas, ways of acting that really are just fraudulent in God’s plan. So many things that cause us to doubt that the right way is actually the right way. I need a life “Fraud Alert!”
There are those today who want to offer us a counterfeit reality. “If you believe you are a cat, then you are a cat.” Wrong. “If you believe with all your heart that wealth will be yours, you can manifest that into reality.” Wrong. “Even if God says it is wrong, today is a different time. It can be right today, if it feels like your truth.” Soooo wrong!
Do you see where I am going? Our world today offers us and our children and grandchildren so many more options than we ever had. Some are good, but there are many that just distort what the truth really is. So many are fraudulent.
We need to learn to recognize fraudulent activity in our lives, and not just in our finances. In the middle of the night I have gotten a text on my phone from the bank saying they suspect fraudulent activity on my debit card. I will look at it and I might be $3.99 to Lime Scooters (I see that one often. Who knows why?). I look at it and I think, “Man! It is just a small amount. If I mark it as fraud, I will have to get a whole new debit card. I don’t want that hassle.” The same is true in our lives. Sometimes we just let a little something that seems fairly harmless on the surface into our lives. But, the damage it can cause can be enormous. As we let little things slowly slide into our lives, before long, we are living a life that is so very far away from the one God has planned for us.
The truth of it all is that God has never changed since the day He created man. God created us all with a plan for our lives. Fraudulent activity is never a part of His plan. We need to be intentional about seeking God’s plan for our lives, and ignore the shiny distractions of this world. We need to follow God with our whole hearts and our whole lives!
Are you recognizing when “fraudulent activity” is seen in your life? Start recognizing it by looking with Godly eyes! It will make a difference!
