
Tracy L. Faulkner, 52, of Acuff passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at the Harvest Christian Fellowship, in Lubbock, with Jack Thompson officiating; burial will follow in the City of Idalou Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Tracy was born July 8, 1963, in Brownwood, Texas. She moved with her family to Lubbock as a child. Tracy graduated from Monterey High School in 1981 and Texas Tech University in 1985. She started teaching at Oak Grove Elementary in Brownfield and moved to Roosevelt Elementary in 1997, retiring in Dec. of 2014, due to health concerns. She was a member of TCTA. Tracy was active with the Scottish Rite Children’s Dyslexia program. Tracy married Todd Clinton Faulkner on June 12, 1987, in Lubbock at the Second Baptist Church. They resided in the Acuff community for the past ten years. Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Gerald and Sharon Lea Hicks Newman. Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, Todd; daughter, Taylor Faulkner; and son, Clint Faulkner and fianc e, Katy Gribben (of Lubbock), all of the home in Acuff; two sisters, Vicki and husband Gary Potts of Forney, Texas, and Dr. Carol Newman-Gilson of Phoenix, Ariz.; in-laws, Neil and Karen Faulkner of Lamesa. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Kim Belding and Jana Gilmore for their friendship. The family will have a visitation at Englunds Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. They suggest memorials to Hospice of Lubbock and Scottish Rite Learning Center.
