Tommy Joe “Malley” Hines

photo_034714_4088230_1_15486271_20160731Tommy Joe Malley Hines, 60, of Brownfield, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016. Celebration of life service will be held Monday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.

He was born Feb. 21, 1956, to Jessie and Mary Hines in Brownfield, Texas. He attended school in Brownfield and Compton, Calif. He graduated from Compton Senior High School in 1974. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1980; he was stationed in Fort Hood. He worked for Ozark Mahoning, which was later named Cooper Natural Resources for 20 years and before leaving Cooper Natural Resources he started his own landscaping business which he maintained for 20 years. He loved nature, outdoors, and most of all fishing. Tommie never met a stranger and was loved by many.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mary Hines; grandparents, I.H. Harris, Olivia Harris, and Stella Hines; one son, Thomas J. Hines; three brothers, Eula Charles, Jimmy, and Robert Hines; and one sister, Olivia Hines.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Leatrice Hines; his children, Christopher, Adrian, and Jessica Hines; five grandchildren, Devin, Jeremiah, Jezlyn, Javion, and Zayden; two special nephews, Andre and Lamar Hines; special niece, Maliyiah; four sisters, Patricia Kemp, Stella Hines, Laverne Mann (Michael), and Janifer Stell; three brothers, Isaac Hines, John Hines (Toi), and Chad Evans; and a host of other relatives and friends.
