One of the local quilting guilds has beautiful quilts on display at the Kendrick Memorial Library and they are having a contest within the guild itself otherwise known as the Sew Sisters. Nicole Acevedo with the library added, “Theresa West is part of the Sew Sisters Quilting guild and they started doing this contest last year with the guild. So they come in and hang up their quilts and have people that come into the Library walk around and look at them and cast their vote for their favorite one. Mrs.West’s idea was to partner with us and get a little bit more foot traffic in the Library because she is my Library Board Treasurer and to just bring joy with this beautiful and colorful quilt. She’s a very big advocate for the library so we kinda partner with each other in that sense plus the people in the community love it, it makes the place more cheerful for adults and kids. We are always sad to see them go but these ladies are really talented and we love seeing what these ladies bring each year”.
Acevedo encourages the community to come out and check out the quilts. The Kendrick Memorial Library is open 9am -5pm, Monday through Friday.
