Although the Lady Cubs concluded their softball season in the second round of the playoffs, they had to wait for the final team in District 3-3A. That final team was Coahoma, which recently won the Class 3A Division II State Title. Brownfield, which is arguably in one of the toughest districts in 3A in the state, finished with a 7-5 record in district play. Two of their five losses were against the eventual state champions, Coahoma. They managed to split games with Denver City, Lamesa, and Stanton to remain in playoff contention.
