Rickie Dave Joplin, 71, of Brownfield passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home. Memorial services will be at First Christian Church 1501 Tahoka Rd, Brownfield, August 16th at 2:00 pm.
Rickie was born on July 16, 1954, in Brownfield to Lewis and Beatrice Joplin. He grew up in Brownfield and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1972. He attended South Plains College for two years. He was a Master Electrician and HVAC technician. He owned and operated Joplin Electric for many years. He also worked for Brownfield Regional Hospital for 20 years before retiring. He married Susan Keel on December 23, 1997. He loved to work in his backyard, playing with his dogs, and he and Susan enjoyed spending time in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan on January 2nd of this year.
Survivors include his son, Bryan Joplin and Amy Cameron; daughter, Ashley Rock and husband Shayne; stepson, Brett Boren and wife Kaely; stepdaughter, Erika Boren; sister, Kathy Rogers; and four grandchildren, Nicole Joplin, Hailey Joplin, Rhyder Rock and Londyn Rock.
