Plains ISD Superintendent, Dr. Stephanie Howard, had the opportunity to visit classrooms and recognize the teachers who were nominated for the Plains Ambassador Award and announce the winner of the October 2016 Plains Ambassador Award.
Mr. Mark Pittman was selected as the October 2016 Plains Ambassador. At District Convocation in August, it was announced that the school would be giving this award. The purpose of this award is to recognize employees who are Positive – Loyal – Proud! This person is a member of the team who advocates for the profession, their campus, and the work of the district, both at work and throughout the community. A Plains Ambassador is one who delivers more than is expected.
Pittman received two nominations, and here is what they said about him, “Mr. Pittman came into the district and actively worked to form relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. He shows up to the majority of events and helps any organization in need. While there, he cheers on our teams and shares positive experiences from his class with students and community members. He helped Student Council decorate their float, he constantly brags about the Ag and FFA program to anyone who will listen, and he has been known to help students prepare for the ASVAB test, build props for the One-Act play, and he is a great victory bell ringer on Friday nights!”
Congratulations to Mr. Pittman.
