Nikkee Danielle Neel and her precious son Malachi Ryan “Skyhorse” Zarate of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.
Nikkee was born to Cynthia Zarate and Josh Neel on August 27, 1994. Nikkee graduated from Estacado High School and went on to join the workforce. Nikkee loved going to Rock concerts and meeting new friends. Nikkee was a down to earth free spirit and loving mother and daughter.
Malachi Ryan “Skyhorse” Zarate was born to Nikkee Danielle Neel and Eric Hernandez “Little Running Bull” on November 10, 2015. Malachi was a student at Roy Roberts Elementary. Malachi loved playing with his dinosaurs and playing Fortnite with his cousins.
Both of these beautiful souls spent every day living in the moment and loved spending time with family. This mother and son were inseparable and were never far from each other.
Nikkee is survived by mom Cyndi Zarate of Lubbock; Dad Josh Neel of Lubbock; Brother Joshua Zarate and wife Maria; grandmothers Hope Zarate and husband Pete Hernandez of Lubbock; Ann Glogowski of Brownfield; Aunts Diana Mendoza and husband John Paul Mendoza of Lubbock; Michelle Zarate of Lubbock; Chasy and husband Catarino Arguellez of Brownfield; Uncle Jeremiah Bryant of Lubbock; and several cousins.
Malachi is survived by his dad Eric Hernandez “Little Running Bull” and step-mother Amber Hernandez; brother Jason Valverde and sisters Aria and Coraline Hernandez, step-father Robert Zavier Garcia of Lubbock, grandmother Cyndi Zarate and step-grandfather Julio Hernandez Jr. of Lubbock; grandfather Gilbert Redcrow Hernandez; great-grandmothers Hope Zarate and husband Pete Hernandez of Lubbock; Ann Glogowski of Brownfield; grandparents Maria and Julio Hernandez Sr.; Uncle Joshua Zarate and wife Maria Borrego of Lubbock and several cousins.
