The Mustangs came up short in Idalou as a hot shooting Wildcat team defeated the Mustangs 51-37.
The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead before the Mustangs came back to tie things up 11-11 late in the quarter. However Idalou went into the second quarter on top 13-12.
In the second quarter the Wildcats drained four of their seven 3-point baskets and opened a 27-20 halftime lead.
The two teams played on even terms throughout most of the second half, but the Mustangs were forced to foul late in the game and Idalou cashed in on 5 of 7 free throws down the stretch for the 14 point game.
Idalou upped their district record to 4-5 while the Mustangs dropped to 5-4.
Both teams will close out the regular season with Idalou traveling to Post and the Mustangs entertaining Slaton at home.
