Funeral services for Maria Elena Rojas Ortiz will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm and Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a rosary starting at 6:00 pm.
Maria Elena Rojas Ortiz was born on August 18th 1968, to Agustin and Consuelo Rojas (AKA)Elaine). Services are entrusted to Brownfield Funeral Home. Elaine went home to be with our Lord on August 4th 2026, due to a long battle with her illness. Elaine was a fighter and a very strong woman, always smiling and hiding the pain she was in. Elaine worked for Girling Home Health and Stripes, where she always continued to smile and never gave up. Elaine was the type of person who always cared for others. Elaine loved being around family; it always put a smile on her face. She also enjoyed cooking and dancing. Elaine cooked for her family as if she was cooking for the whole neighborhood. She always made plenty of food and made sure you took some home
Elaine is preceded in death by her mother, Consuelo Rojas, and her nephew, Jose Agustin Sepeda, and Elijah Quintanilla Rojas; a sister, Juanita Rojas, and brother, Jesus Rojas, and mother-in-law, Maria Ellen Ortiz.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Ramiro Ortiz, and two stepdaughters, Desirre Ponee, husband Maurelio Ponee, and Mia Ponee, and Gabriel Ponee, stepdaughter Alexandra Ortiz. She is also survived by her father, Agustin Campos Rojas; sister, Micaela Sepeda, Husband Earnest Sepeda, Frances Casanova, Josephine Rivera; brother, Ligorio Rojas, and his wife, Magdelena Rojas, and Agustin Rojas Jr., and her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and always cared for.
