Maria Cavazos Alvarado, age 93 went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2014 in Brownfield.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Living Water Foursquare Church in Brownfield with Pastor Rudy Alvarado officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Brownfield.
Maria was born October 27, 1921 to Bacillo and Faustina Cavazos in Pettus, Texas. She met Jose G Maria Alvarado and they married in 1943 in Bishop, Texas. Together they moved to Brownfield to make a home in 1950. He precedes her in death.
Mrs. Alvarado enjoyed working and contributing her time to her church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and gardening. Maria loved taking care of her family and anyone else that happen to need it.
Those left to cherish her memories are 6 Sons: Israel Alvarado, Daniel Alvarado and Noe Alvarado all of Brownfield; Gabriel Alvarado of Sundown, Vacilio Alvarado and Joe Angel Alvarado all from Sublet, Kansas; 3 Daughters: Maria Elena Miranda of Brownfield, Eudelia Trevino of Levelland and Celia Jimenez of Worland, Wyoming; 1 Aunt: Aguerelia Zamora of Bishop, Texas. She also leaves behind 1 Step-Son: Ismael Alvarado of Cotton Center; and 2 Step-Daughters: Maria Mongia of Sinton and Doha Alvarado of Lubbock.
Maria was also blessed with 33 Grandchildren, 53 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 Son: Joel Alvarado.
In lieu of flowers family request that donations be made to the Brownfield Rehab Center in Brownfield, Texas.
