leroy-dempsLeroy Demps, 74, of Brownfield passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. Leroy Demps was born July 26, 1942, in Taylor, Texas, to Harold and Ruthie Mae Demps. Leroy moved to Brownfield in 1970 where he became a farmer and a county worker. He retired in 2008.

On his own time he loved to have gatherings with family and friends to cookout and play dominoes. He also liked fishing. He loved traveling in his van from Brownfield to Taylor and Austin to visit his family. For Leroy Demps everything about him was priceless and he was well known by many people. He was such a loving and caring man may he rest in peace he is in a better place now.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memories: his three daughters, Patrica Demps and Sandra Demps, both of Austin, Texas, and Shelia Demps of Brownfield, Texas; three sons, Ronald Jackson of Sherman, Texas, Richard Demps and Robert Demps, both of Brownfield, Texas; six sisters, Barbara Brown, Ardia Hardeman, Laverne Patterson, Wesley Griffin, Nora Brown, and Lovie Demps, all of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends Celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church, Brownfield, Texas.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Southside Church of Christ, Taylor, Texas. Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
