Howard (Bones) Gandy

howard-gandyHoward (Bones) Gandy, 59, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born Jan. 28, 1957, to James and Geraldine Gandy. He graduated from Brownfield High School and attended South Plains College. His lifelong literary interests included working for local newspapers, printers, and authoring several books. He also worked as a manager for several hotels in the Lubbock area. He loved all people and judged no one. He had a lifelong interest in nature, the arts, philosophy, and a good conversation with friends and good a cup of coffee.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Sexton, of Lubbock; brothers, Ernie Gandy, of Lubbock, Eddy Gandy, of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Cookie Williams, of De Leon, Texas, and all of his many wonderful friends. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Embassy Suites located at 5215 S Loop 289, in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lubbock Scottish Rite Learning Center at 1101 70th St, Lubbock, TX 79412.
