Welcome back to Horton’s Pick ‘Ems. I went 62-18 last week. Most games are from the West Texas area, which includes the South Plains, Panhandle, Permian Basin, Big Country, and Concho Valley. In the list below, there are 50 games in Week 6, Oct. 3-5, 2024. Games with the # next to it mean they are district games. Teams with a number in the ( ) in front of them are their ranking. Games with a (T) or an (S) are Thursday and Saturday games. The school (team) on the left is Eric Horton’s pick. We encourage you all to pick which team will win.
Several districts are not playing this Friday because they are “idle.” Next week, we will see more games. Idle districts are Dist. 2-6A, Districts 1-2A DI, 2-2A DI, 3-2A DI, 4-2A DI, 2-2A DII, 3-2A DII, 4-2A DII, 5-2A DII, 6-2A DII, 7-2A DII, & 8-2A DII. A couple of games of note this week are the Shally @ #9 Canadian (3A DII). This will not be a blowout by any means. Canadian will take this one in a hard-fought battle. The next game to look at is Idalou vs #7 Wall (3A DII). The Wildcats will travel over to the Concho Valley to take on a pretty tough Wall squad. Both teams are 4-1, however, the Hawks have better wins.
