Tomorrow at 7 PM on August 1st will be the first game of the 2024 NFL season. Now I know that it’s not a regular season game, but after months without football, I think we can all be excited about this. The Bears vs Texans will look to treat this as an extra preseason game and use this to look at who they keep or cut on their rosters. For players that are not as well named and possibly be cut, this will be a good time to put game film out so other teams could look to add them to their active or practice squad roster.
Maybe we might get spoiled as fans and get to watch a series or two from Caleb Williams, which if the Bears were smart. That’s what they should do, give him more reps to learn the NFL speed cause even preseason is slower than the regular season when it comes to the game’s speed. The reads have to be faster, passing windows tighter decisions have to be made by the snap of the ball. I don’t know if Williams will play tomorrow but if he does the media will have a field day whether he plays bad or good. As talented as he was there were murmers just about his character, voicing his opinion on where he wanted to get drafted and etc.
Fans of the NFL know that nobody gets the option unless you have some positioning like the Manning’s. This experience doesn’t just go for Williams but any of the draft picks that are going to get some playing time tomorrow will start to have their welcome to the NFL moment. Not only do we get to watch a NFL game but we also get to see some of the greats that made the game to what it is today. So, are you ready for some football!
