fleta-taylorFuneral services for Fleta Taylor, 90, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church of Denver City with Reverend Ronnie Lunsford officiating. Services will be under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. She passed away Sept. 12, 2016, in Denver City.

Fleta was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Bluitt, NM, to Claude and Bettie Thomason. She married Ben Taylor on Feb. 8, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas. Fleta and her husband moved to Yoakum County in 1949 and to Denver City in 1956. She was a dedicated homemaker and she and her husband were ranchers in the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Emery Thomason; and two sisters, Helen Hanley and Hazel Thomason. Fleta is survived by two daughters, Martha Harrel and her husband, Ross of Denver City, Bettye Nickell and her husband, Billy of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.
