A 17-year-old male from Lamesa, Texas, was killed on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 9:25 PM. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS), the young man was driving a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck and was the only occupant. The investigation revealed that he was traveling northwest on Texas State Highway 137 (Lamesa Highway) when he lost control, skidding to the west into the roadside ditch near CR 490. The vehicle began to roll over and collided with several trees. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he sustained in the crash. TxDPS also noted that the weather conditions were cloudy and wet, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
