It is time once again for the Denver City Chamber of Commerce Banquet, which is set to provide not only a well known guest speaker, but to also provide great food as well.
This year’s banquet will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 at the Mustang Cafeteria, 501 Mustang Dr, #B. Those attending the banquet will get a chance to honor those who enhance the life of Denver City, and will get an opportunity to hear Executive Producer and Host of “Texas Country Reporter,” Bob Phillips.
Phillips is probably best known for his longstanding spotlight on Texas, which is called the “Texas Country Reporter,” and can be seen on RFD-TV.
“Country Reporter” debuted in 1972 as a regional program and ran until 1986 when Phillips left his television station to pursue the show on his own. He renamed the “Texas Country Reporter,” and began producing and syndicating it through his own company, Phillips Productions. The television program aired in all twenty-two broadcast markets in Texas, and eventually was even broadcast in Louisiana..
In 2005, Phillips, who is a Dallas native, was inducted into the Silver Circle of the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts Sciences, which extended to professionals who have spent at least twenty-five years of their career in television in Texas and have made significant contributions to their industry and their communities.
Phillips has authored many books that deal mainly with Texas topics and Texas cuisine.
Tickets for the event are $25 each, or $190 for a table of eight.
