Deion Sanders came under fire from the sports media after banning a Denver columnist from his media session. A lot of questions have been asked about him. Deion has always had a way about him that can rub people the wrong way. From coming to Denver and saying that the players already there better be ready cause he’s bringing his Louis and Gucci. This caused a major uproar within the team, leading to many transfers from the buffs. There was so much hype around Deion and his team when football season came. But not because the team was good but because of who Deion Sanders is.
Having celebrities on the sideline and rappers walking out of the team made it feel like the USC team that Pete Carrol led all those years back. Except for one major difference, USC was a powerhouse, and Colorado is fortunate to have the hype surrounding them last year. This would only be exacerbated by the team being TCU in their season opener, only to find out later in the season that TCU was just not as good as they were a season ago.

They would later go on to win against Nebraska, and Colorado St. before falling on their face losing the rest of their games for the season besides their game against Arizona St. Now we look at this season coming up there isn’t the hype train, no noise on the media radar that has to do with the actual team and the team would be fortunate to win 5 games this season. In the first year back to the Big12, being in the position that they are in, he should be happy with 5 wins. This would increase their win total from the previous year showing trends of going in the right direction.
So, who would be the teams they win against? I have the Buffs beating North Dakota State who should not be slept on, they are a powerhouse in their own for their division and could upset the Buffs. Next would be a win against their little brother Colorado St. This game will be competitive like last year, it could be a win for the Rams. After the Rams, I have the Buffs beating Baylor and this should come easy as Baylor is in disarray, Aranda is probably on the hot seat and if they have a bad season, he will be out.

The last two wins of their season would come against UCF and Cincinnati. Both teams haven’t had major success in the Big12 and I don’t expect them to have much success against Deion’s team. Will it be competitive? Sure, but at the fourth quarter mark, I think that’s where the Buffs will take off and not look back in both games. I don’t find them winning any of the other games, Kansas is on the rise, and Kansas State, O.K. State, and Utah are all solid teams. Texas Tech will beat them by Joey McGuire being in his third year as the head coach and having the players and personnel he wants.
Tonight, the Buffs will face the North Dakota St. which has, like I said earlier been a powerhouse in their division and if they lose to the Bison’s. The media will have a field day with Deion. So, let’s sit back, grab our popcorn and enjoy tonight’s “show”.
