The DCHS Winter Guard and Drumline will host a Caprock Color Guard Circuit (CCGC) competition on Saturday, March 26 at the DAG according to information released by Katie Blanco, the Color Guard Instructor for the Mustang marching band.
The Drumline will be performing at 1 pm in the North gym and the Winter Guard will perform at 2:23 pm in the main gym.
In addition to the local group other schools who are expected to be here will include drumlines and color guards from Alpine, San Angelo Central, Snyder, Estacado, Canyon, Lubbock, Roosevelt, Monterey, Frenship, and an Independent group with college students performing.
The competition starts at 1 pm with the last group scheduled to start at 3:47 pm.
“I would love for everyone to come out and support the Drumline and the Winter Guard and see what CCGC is all about,” Blanco said. “Our kids would appreciate all of your support. They have been working hard since December preparing for this competition.”
This will be the second competition for the local color guard and drumline. The color guard received first place ratings in their contest recently held at Frenship.
Members of this group include Taylor Ranney, Gabby Salazar, Maribel Burciaga, Robert Mendoza, Stefane Garcia, Jesus Anaya, Lisette Anaya, Maricarmen Gandara, Isabel Lira, Abelardo Palma, Joel Palma, Abby Morales, Natalie Soto, Erica Baker, Ailin Ortega, Mariana Polanco, Nidia Ceniceros, and Alondra Levario.
