United States:• Total infections: 5,881 (+1,399)• 107 deaths (+14)• STATES ARE NOW REPORTING THEIR OWN TOTAL CASES, CDC STATES “Now that states are testing and reporting their own results, CDC’s numbers are not representative of all testing being done nationwide.”
Texas: • Current Counties w/ cases: Bell, Bexar, Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Bend, Galveston, Gregg, Harris, Hays, Lavaca, Lubbock, Hockley, Matagorda, Montgomery, Smith, Tarrant Travis• Current Counties w/ community spread: Matagorda, Montgomery, Brazoria, Dallas• Deaths: 2 (+1)• Total Texas Cases: 129 (+45)
Regional:• Two reported cases announced yesterday from UMC, one patient from Hockley County and one from Lubbock County. Preliminary information indicates both are travel related infections• BRMC has begun temperature screening all visitors• BRMC now has the capability to diagnose COVID-19 through commercial laboratories as well as through the health department. Screening kits are extremely limited and will be used sparingly.• As testing kits become more widely available, there will be a sharp increase in cases locally and nationwide. This does not indicate a large increase in infections, just better identification
